Coenzyme Q10 is a compound present in almost every cell of the body, mostly in the mitochondria. The body produces it on its own, and in the diet it occurs in meat, fish, nuts and rapeseed oil, among others. It has two forms: ubiquinone, the oxidised one, and ubiquinol, the reduced one, and in the body they convert into one another. The name ubiquinone comes from the word “ubiquitous”, meaning present everywhere.
